Does it make a difference in the game if I set my rotation as Bird/Bird/Scott versus Bird/Scott/Bird?

I used to play around with this a lot. From what I understand second string gets more minutes than the third string. So the Bird/Bird/Scott should give Bird more minutes than the latter. Someone with more research can confirm, I've just done this observationally.

Even having a bench player be second string for two positions can usually get them to ~30MPG

They may play more, but with less rest of my understanding is correct, also on the court at different times so may have different matchups.

While unwritten and coming out now, I would restrict him from playing PG

I would worry he could break the engine

Why would you want Bird to play PG anyway? Unless you plan on tanking.

He'd average 10 topg...

And like that, Point Bird died before he could even spread his wings.

Roster 1 PG and put Wilkins, Griffith, and Drew at all 3 slots for their respective positions. the CPU will play him there sometimes

So legit question, does FBB have staff on the teams during the sim?

I am trying to figure out what causes certain teams to develop really well consistently without much regard for potential, and others to pretty consistently have poor development with better potential.

It's definitely not potential, and it isn't based on playing time or team success as far as I can tell, because the teams that develop well do so after tanking, and teams that do poorly still do poorly even if guys play major minutes on playoff teams, so it must be staff based I think.

If that is the case I think we should be allowed to ask that our staff be fired once every 3 seasons.

Besides the draft, all potential is basically useless because there's a "true" potential and a "scouted" potential that we see in the index. I think our draft files always make true = scouted for draft, but after the first TC they diverge and it's just luck

There's no staff (though I remember an FBB successor having them), and I'm sure you would find significantly less "consistency for certain teams" if you took objective measurements. Potential rating matters but it is very randomly applied, so even high potential is far from a guarantee of big development.

hmm, maybe. If I have time I might run it. I definitely think that just from reading the TC threads certain teams generally do well and others poorly. I think of all the times we see a player just bust for 3-4 years, get traded then have a good camp, or a team sign a guy who should be past improvement age but suddenly does, it seems like certain teams tend to have better camps on average and others worse, but not sure I have the time to run the data. Maybe I just notice it more because my team is in a streak of having some of the worst camps, and I haven't had a player have 2 good camps in a row in a decade, and I don't pay year to year attention to other teams consistently

The Hawks are a team I think of as having really poor camps.. though looks like they actually had a decent one this year, so maybe it's selective memory.
