The first two firsts probably don't mean much. But a lot of West teams are rebuilding or on their way up. And Houston is now old.

So those 88 and 89 1sts could be nice pieces for Jazz.

I would have at least protected the 90 1st if I was the Rockets. That was a mistake.

Maybe I overspent, but I think Parish would have to retire and Dantley would have to fall off a cliff for my team to miss the playoffs.

Perhaps that's true. Still nice move by Jazz. And it's possible Parish and Dantley deprecate significantly in 4 years.
