Figured I'd start a general thread. As of right now, Phyllis Francis in 400m final, Prandini and Stevens in 200m semis, Cabral and Allen in 110m semis.

Deajah Stevens is in the women's 200m final after posting the top non-automatic qualifying time. Prandini missed the cut after finishing 4th in her heat.

Ashton Eaton is leading the decathlon by 44 points entering the final event, the 1500. He needs to finish within 6 seconds of the 2nd-place competitor, France's Kevin Mayer, to secure the gold.

Also, Matthew Centrowitz is into the 1500 final after finishing 3rd in his semifinal heat.

Ashton Eaton has successfully defended his title by tying the Olympic decathlon record and now has to be considered one of the top decathletes ever.

English Gardner wins gold in the 4x100 relay. They ran the 2nd faster time ever and did so in Lane 1, one of the toughest lanes to run from in any race.

So we have two golds and a bronze so far? Any I am missing? I predict bigger hauls in the future as the track program resurgence starts to trickle into the Olympics.

The Ducks now have their 3rd gold as Centrowitz wins the 1500, the first American win in that event since the 1908 Olympics.

Phyllis Francis will be running the 3rd leg of the 4x400 relay later tonight. Americans are prohibitive favorites to win.
