1999 scouting report

Post by jibbajabba614 »

1999 Draft Preview:

1. Steve Francis 3 B’s 1 C 1 D 1 A
Another start to the season and another top prospect heading to the line. At the top of the line this season is Steve Francis, a ready now point guard who had the potential to become an elite player. More of an athletic player so turnovers could be problematic. As it stands, Francis enters a more point guard driven league.

2. Baron Davis 5 B’s 1 C
It’s not that Baron Davis is a top elite player, it’s that Baron Davis is a really good player. Can he take the the leap. He will have all the intangibles going into the draft.

3. Elton Brand 3 B’s 2 C’s 1 A
Do to having such a deep big men league, Brand could fall between the cracks. Like other bigs, he scores inside and guard as a rim protector. Can he be more than that is an unknown.

4. Richard Hamilton 2 B’s 2 C’s 1 D 1 A
Between RIP and Wally it’s truly gonna be a toss up. Hamilton being the better driver. Defensively, he can guard anybody one on one. More of a long term development player.

5. Lamar Odom 5 C’s 1 A
All around player. Whether he can continue to get better will be the biggest question. Has the skills and tools to be elite. He’s going to have to focus in the weight rooms and continue to work on his play making abilities.

Will help GM’s on figuring out top prospects
