Also I've realized that this change could affect us heavily this season, because if both USC and Utah have the best conference records, we will be excluded, fingers crossed we can still sweep the conference games.

I'd like to see the Pac12 follow the SEC's lead in scheduling a OOC cupcake opponent in the second half of the season for teams to essentially have an extra week of rest...

Screw the Pac 12 for that stupid asterisk regarding the Poodles not playing their game against us to determine the North winner that year.

Also interesting that we'd have played in 2 extra CG's as a result of this. No word in there about how they would determine a potential 3-way tiebreaker like we had 22 years ago.

Do divisions still have any purpose?

I imagine divisions may very well be eliminated soon.

Have to go to an 8 game conference schedule for that to happen. Great idea. Just look at the SEC's schedules, they pretty much all have a nice cupcake in their schedule about 3-4 weeks before the end of the season.

I saw a blurb this morning that said the 25-recruit class days are over.

That's quite an article; it explains a lot about what is going on with the Ducks too. "Newly hired coaches can remove a player from their 85-man scholarship roster but keep them on scholarship as long as they stop playing." And since no real player wants to stop playing, it effectively forces them into the portal. Wow. I wonder which of Oregon's players had that conversation with the new staff.

Also today are some interesting revelations from Su'a Cravens about how SEC schools all offered him money and Pac 12 schools didn't. So maybe we are headed for a more level playing field now? Or at least some kind of shift from SEC money to whoever can get a good NIL program going, including the Ducks.

I sort of like Oregon winning North titles. I'm not sure this is the best direction. I think less conference games is the answer to more teams in the playoffs.

Solid video from Josh Pate. For those thinking anyone knows what’s happening, he makes a lot of good points. Relax, Oregon will be fine.
