Re: Your favorite Duck player
For Nostalgia:
Offense: Saladin McCullough. The first game I ever attended was the 1997 opener against Zona where he returned the kickoff after saying that he would. Instantly made me fall in love with Oregon football.
Defense: Kevin Mitchell, I just remember him as an undersized dude who played with a ton of heart and passion, I feel like I can remember an announcer comparing him to Rudy.
Recency Bias
Offense: Marcus Mariota, great player and even better person, easy choice.
Defense: DeForest Buckner, I remember a couple games in 2015 where he would bully multiple lineman and make huge game defining plays.

Great call on Kevin Mitchell, one of the first I thought of.

Kenny Rowe, Devon Long, and Nick Reed. We just haven't had pass rushers like them since.

Re: Your favorite Duck player
Most of my favorites have already been named, so I will do the nostalgia picks:
Offense: Danny O'Neill and Joe Reitzug
Defense: Igor Olshansky and Alex Molden
Reitzug was not terribly athletic, but he is one of the most clutch receivers I have ever seen, and he played during my first years of paying attention to more than the score in duck games. Danny O'Neill took us to our first Rose Bowl in 30 years, and was a total class act as a person.
Igor was a monster and probably the best kick blocker in Oregon history. Alex Molden was Ifo before we had Ifo - we don't go to that '95 Rose Bowl without him. I was bummed that his son didn't come to Oregon.

Not to mention the block he failed to make that cost us that game.OregonFan4Life wrote:DAT kinda checked out his Junior year and opened his mouth too much. I remember him guaranteeing 40 points against Stanford and saying that the Rose Bowl wasn’t exciting to them cause they were there last year and they only really wanted a national championship. Some give him a break as he was a Chip guy and he didn’t like Helf at all, he can join the club with many other players that did not enjoy having Helf as a coach.chapelhillduck wrote:Offense: Can't believe DAT hasn't gotten a mention yet, dude was electric
(everyone else mentioned is awesome too)

That’s true, he makes that block we have a natty right now. I hated his excuse after the game when asked why he didn’t block and he said something like “I thought Marcus was fast enough to outrun him”, even if you think that you still block! Couple plays later he took a screen pass for a TD but he kneeled down to catch the ball when he didn’t need to so after review it was actually a 2 yard loss.nogerO wrote:Not to mention the block he failed to make that cost us that game.OregonFan4Life wrote:DAT kinda checked out his Junior year and opened his mouth too much.
