Oh Herbert shares this loss for 2 different missed throws to Keenan Allen in the End Zone on 2 different drives. That was an 8 point difference so it should have been a 35-0 collapse.OregonFan4Life wrote:Staley, Lombardi, and Joey Bosa’s low IQ and temper happened.shoparound wrote:what the hell happened with the chargers

Lots of blame to go around. The Herbert that would sometimes disappear for us came back. But he's still mega-talented and I'm going to blame a shitty coaching staff and a defense that turned into swiss cheese more than him. If you put Herbert in a good situation you can win a Super Bowl.

3rd and less than a yd to go near end of first half and they call a freaking jet sweep with a guy who hadn't been in the game instead of a sneak???? Jags NEVER shpould have got the ball back to make it 27-7. Stupid call by moron coaching

Herbert didn’t play his best but he has to be perfect for the team to win, the crappy coaching and talent around him puts quite a heavy burden on him. Lombardi has also sucked the life out of not only Herbert but the entire offense, nobody on that offense ever looks like they’re having fun, compare that to the Jags offense tonight.Duck07 wrote:Oh Herbert shares this loss for 2 different missed throws to Keenan Allen in the End Zone on 2 different drives. that should be Staley last game as a head coach, so it might be better for Justin in the long term. Justin didn't have his best game for sure, missed a couple open guys.

So for those wondering what the most realistic timeline for Hebert becoming a Free Agent, he'll undoubtedly have his 5th year team option exercised and if he were to refuse to sign a long-term deal, the Chargers can use the Franchise tag 3x on him before they can't do it any longer. That means the 2028 Season would see him able to sign elsewhere and means they've got him for at least another 5 years.
(I also don't see him refusing the ridiculous contract offer he'll get)

Justin didn't have his best day, but he got absolutely no help from the running game and no help in protection from his offensive line. Justin himself had a number of really big conversions. That offense was putrid, and Justin can only do so much.
