Good for JM but I think its great thing to do for your players I think this is good for recruiting too! You can tell your recruits hey in one year of play in our system we have a Heisman candidate...brilliant marketing strategy!!

But for JM if we play real well next year I could see him in the actual Heisman race in his senior year!

GO DUCKS!!

Ha, I love it. It may be a little premature, but Masoli has improved a ton over just a couple months. If he plays like he did the last 4-5 games, then he'll be a Heisman candidate. His decision making ability (in terms of passing the ball) could improve. That's really the only thing I think needs to be polished.

Tajh needs to see this.

Masoli finished strong, but I think the heisman talk is a little premature.

That's what the off-season is for, right? Pretty cool to see the word getting around. Even if it is premature, it is nice for him to be recognized.

Yeah, a bit premature in my handbook, but hey! Love the recognition! And to think that he only started playing for the Ducks about 6 months ago!

I like Masoli, but I kind of think this is a recruiting tool to try to sway Tajh Boyd by showing him what he would have to look forward to if he came to Oregon.

Anything is possible I guess. Masoli shows all the potential of a future Hiesman candidate. Less picks, better pass efficiency and Oregon winning games next year and Masoli will definitely have everybody's attention.

If he plays all of next year at at least the level he finished this year at he should get a mention for it, at least.

McNamara makes a good argument in the article. IMO Masoli will need to improve his passing accuracy, which I believe he will, and the Ducks probably need to go at least 11-2 and be in a BCS game. The great WR additions in this years recruiting class will certainly help.

Wow. The cheerleading picture that he threw in the article is smoking!

Will Oregon do like Texas Tech did with Harrell and Crabtree with Masoli and Blount? That would garner a lot of attention!

I wonder if the AD jumped too soon. Chip had said earlier that QB position would open again this spring. What will Roper, Harper and Thomas think of their assumed role of playing back up? Will it encourage or discourage Boyd from Oregon? Seems they could have waited until after signing day at least. I wonder if Kelly and Bellotti even know since they are at the coaches convention.

Just think... If even 1/2 of the tipped/dropped balls from last season had been catches, Masoli would already have stratospheric numbers.
