What will Roper, Harper and Thomas think of their assumed role of playing back up? Will it encourage or discourage Boyd from Oregon? Seems they could have waited until after signing day at least. I wonder if Kelly and Bellotti even know since they are at the coaches convention.

Don't really think this will affect anybody, I'm sure most guys are smart enough to know that this is just talk. Especially guys like Harper and Thomas, they know what's going on with Oregon football better than anybody.

So true about the drops. Also, what if Masoli hadn't been 'taken out' in the Boise State game. He'll get his opportunity in Sept.

The thing that is significant is that the hype is not coming from the Oregon athletic department... Even if Miller is a PAC 10 beat writer, he has no personal connection to Masoli, and no vested interest in the Ducks.

I would imagine the Ducks AD will promote and hype Blount for Heisman because he is a Senior and most likely Masoli will have a great season next year so in 2010 they will promote and hype Masoli for his Senior year. Thomas, Brown and Boyd and maybe Harper will get their turn and soon Oregon will be known as Heisman U!!!!!! :D
