2019 signee Sagapolu returns from LDS mission early

Post by greenyellow »

2019 signee Logan Sagapolu has returned early from his LDS mission in Hawaii due to the Mormon church recalling many of its missionaries over coronavirus concerns. It's still not known if he intends to enroll this fall or wait until his originally planned 2021. If he does show up in 2020, he'll likely need to use his redshirt season to get into shape as he looks like he's easily pushing 370+ lbs.

He looks hefty. Definitely going to need Feld to send him a workout program.

I imagine a poly missionary in Hawaii gets offered extra servings. LOL!

For what it is worth Sagapolu says his weight hasn't changed much. Notably he didn't mention overall conditioning.

Despite his heavy focus on the church, Sagapolu said his weight - and weight lifting - have not changed significantly since he first left for Hawaii in June 2019.

He said he’s having conversations with the coaching staff about his place. I wonder if that means he’s trying to enroll for 2020 or 21, and whether we have room for him. We’re in for some of the best 2021 OL and keep offering more. It will be interesting to see if he ever winds up in Eugene.
