Pac-12 Media Day and preseason predictions

Post by greenyellow »

Oregon has been picked by the Pac-12 media as the favorite to win the North Division and conference title game. They also had 10 players selected to the pre-season all-Pac-12 teams.

Seems like the highest expectations for a Cristoball team yet. Hope the team can live up to it.

Pac-12 is very weak. So even if this isn't Oregon's best team, they have a chance to do well.

Bold prediction: We go 11-1 and make the playoffs as the 4th seed.

Seriously speaking, I'm very hopeful that this team improves compared to last year's team and that we can make revenge against the Beavers.

I can’t disagree too much with the Duck representation on the preseason All Pac-12 teams:

* I’m surprised Forsyth is first team. And I’m the one who has been hyping him up since the 2019 spring game. I’m a fan of TJ Bass. It will be disappointing if no other OL step up.

* Max Borghi has no place on the first team. The Pac-12 is sad at running back. Verdell and Dye are both better. Borghi’s stats are identical or worse than past running back/receivers who have played for Leach. Maybe he’ll be more impressive in the Run and Shoot.

* JJIII deserves his spot. A bit surprised Pittman instead of Redd. If I had to pick one of the three I’d gamble on Devon Williams.

* KT as unanimous is not surprising. I’d be curious to see the coaches votes, these shouldn’t be anonymous.
