Disagree. I think Hutson kept walking just to get off the field, then he stood and took his medicine.73duck wrote:I saw the Hutson deal a bit differently. MC attempted to give the normal level of correction to the kid as he came off the field, but Hutson just walked past him without stopping or acknowledging him. It was only then that MC blew up.
Lot of people acting shocked by a 10-second dressing down. I'm old enough to remember lots of coaches yelling at players. Saban is worse, and maybe Mario learned from him. He blasted the kid then walked away. It's football - I get the sense that people who are shocked by Mario's demeanor never played sports. Pretty common stuff.

Appreciate the insights. I never played sports but most who did seemed to have the same opinion. I heard from an AD source there was a separate one on one conversation. Don't know if it was at half or after the game. I'm guessing everyone has moved on but I am sure Crepea will ask about it just to get under Mario's skin.Phalanx wrote:Disagree. It looks like Rod Gilmore wants to keep it going and has no idea that Mario is Cuban.
Can't make it up.

I’m not saying that what coach did was off base but you can be Latino and also identify as being white.

Pretty disappointing that he can freely make the implication that MC supports racial injustice and is thus a racist without any repercussions. Because a football coach yelled at a player for making a bad play.greenyellow wrote:For being a Stanford grad, he sure is dumb.northbeachsf wrote:It looks like Rod Gilmore wants to keep it going and has no idea that Mario is Cuban.

Pretty grotesque by Gilmore to make it a racial issue.

MC is racist? LOL!!!
Oh boy...
If I were Kris Hutson, I'd come out and blast Gilmore for being an idiot.

After listening to him call the game this is not too surprising.

Anybody who has played any meaningful level of sports has had their ass chewed like that. Gilmore knows that. That was tame compared to the Harter or Monson years of Oregon Basketball. There wasn’t a game Harter coached he didn’t lose his s*** on a player, right in plain sight
I’d be very surprised any other Oregon player does anything similar again. Christobal sent a message and good for him. Don’t be a knucklehead.
Re: Arizona @ #3 Oregon (Sept. 25, Sat 7:30 PM ESPN)
I honestly wish ESPN would suspend him.
