I'm surprised by this move. I thought there were other QBs who were much better than Nix.

Of note: Dillingham was Auburn's OC when Bo Nix beat us in 2019.

So, he'll have one year of eligibility left? Last year was his Junior year.

No thanks, just another Burmeister. Decent runner but awful passer. I would hope one of the current QB’s could beat him out.

I'm not really a fan of the move either. I guess Lanning thought it best to have an experienced QB since we play Georgia and BYU in non-conference.StevensTechU wrote:This makes me want to vomit.
He can throw downfield and he can run - if needed. The thing I haven't liked about him is poor decision making.

I've been drinking so tonight, I refuse to comment, but I am NOT happy with the first big decision of this coaching staff.

I legit thought this was a joke tweet when I saw it, but no, it's real.
I still have flashbacks of the 2019 Advocare Classic, but hey, at least his ex-team beat Alabama once in that same season.
Hopefully he's good.

Bo Nix is coming to Oregon
I would imagine this is an insurance move if nothing else. Bringing in an experienced QB who already knows Dilly’s offense is a fail safe.
From Lanning’s perspective hoping one of the 3 young guys that couldn’t beat out AB flips the switch this off-season is a huge risk. Nix still allows for the possibility that one of them does but is an insurance policy is case they don’t.

Nice use of the meme. I actually thought they should bring in a transfer QB this year. Nix I guess gives you an established floor, and if you are rooting for one of our young QBs to beat out a transfer like Herbert did, Bo is your guy, as he isn't exceptional at running or passing. The problem is lots of coaches, I suspect most tell transfers they are the day 1 guy and it takes real marked superiority by the young guys to uproot them. Hopefully Dilly gives the young guys a fair chance.

Since Wario left us 3 QBs who can’t beat out a RB for a starting QB spot. Why wouldn’t the coaches start hitting the transfer portal for some QBs? Dilly watched the QBs practice for a few days, and now Nix is here.
