CJ Verdell going Pro

I think this is the right move for him. Hope he recovers well from his injury. He has the ability to be a really good back.

Good move for him, bad move for us. We really need Broussard now.

I tend to agree. I like Cardwell, but he isn't particularly fast and doesn't really break any tackles (yet). Hope he proves himself and can be the guy season after next.OregonFan4Life wrote:Good move for him, bad move for us. We really need Broussard now.

Agree, it is a good move for him but if we don’t get Broussard now we are in trouble at RB. Too bad we couldn’t hang on to Dye, I can’t help but wonder how much Is known by Lanning and how long ago about Broussard’s plans? If Broussard was locked as a Duck weeks ago it explains a lot.OregonFan4Life wrote:Good move for him, bad move for us. We really need Broussard now.

If Dollars is healthy, he, Cardwell, and Seven McGee are not a bad place to start. If they can sign a recruit and get Broussard or another transfer, I wouldn't worry too much. Verdell's production seems very replaceable to me.

I think the coaches knew Verdell was going pro and Dye was transferring, which is why they've gone hard after Broussard and now HS recruits Jordan James and Andrew Paul.

One side benefit of Verdell leaving is Seven McGee will finally get to wear #7.

I was wondering who we were going up against for him. Given his position, that's a pretty formidable foe.lmduck wrote:Broussard is visiting Mich State next weekend.

Former CU HC, Mel Tucker, is going to tough to beat for Broussard's services.StevensTechU wrote:I was wondering who we were going up against for him. Given his position, that's a pretty formidable foe.lmduck wrote:Broussard is visiting Mich State next weekend.

Good luck to CJ. Very explosive back, good receiver and blocker. Did a lot for Oregon, had more highlights than lowlights and a great career. His ability to house any handoff will be missed. 2018 Washington, 2019 Wazzu, 2019 conference championship game, 2021 tOSU were all great performances.
As far as Broussard - I appear to be much lower on him than most people. Not saying I wouldn’t want him, but I would hope for a better addition at a spot like RB.

He isn't going to be great in the NFL and Oregon is down one more running back. How is this a great move for anyone?StevensTechU wrote:https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2022/0 ... draft.html
