Yeah, not saying it's not public info. It is. It's just that the vibe I get is Crepea loves finding out personal info about the coaches and players. He's made references to other things with coaches and players.
I remember during the season in one of the pressers he wished Lanning a happy anniversary. Lanning was sort of caught off guard by it you could tell. He did graciously thank James and made a comment that 'it has been X great years'. But it came off a little creepy and I was told the other reporters in the room looked sort of surprised when he did it. Again, on the surface it's very nice that he took the time to do it. The flip side of it is maybe TMI.
Just an observation and nothing more.

Reporting on contracts is completely normal journalistic work.
Reporting on a guy's tattoo (as Crepea did) is insanely creepy and out of line.

Totally agree. My point exactly. The ink and the anniversary wishes were a bit much IMO.StevensTechU wrote:Reporting on contracts is completely normal journalistic work.

Oregon is bringing in former OSU OL coach Mike Cavanaugh as an assistant OL coach/analyst. Smart to pair a newbie like Terry with a veteran like Cavanaugh.

Cavanaugh is one of the best in the business. He helps with coaching, Terry is the face and recruiter.

Sounds like he will serve as a coaching mentor to Terry. Great hire.StevensTechU wrote:Cavanaugh is one of the best in the business. He helps with coaching, Terry is the face and recruiter.

Lanning seems to be innovating the coaching system in more ways than we expected.

I just read that Cavanaugh started coaching the year Lanning was born.
