Stanford will be very focused after losing last weekend. Hope we can keep it close.

Stanford's ability to retain talent despite giving players limited playing time is incredible. They have a roster of 15 and all 15 have appeared in at least 6 games. 13 have appeared in 75% of the games. Because of this only 2 players average 30 minutes per game. Future TOP 5 WNBA pick Brink gets just 23 minutes a game. Only 3 players average double figures (14, 13 and 12 per game). Their 6th 7th and 8th leading scorers average less than 10 minutes per game.

Here are the 8 Players getting less then 15 minutes per game while appearing in 19 of 21 games or more

-Iriafen, SO, 5*, McD AA 14.1 mpg
-Brooke, JR 5*, McD AA 13.8 mpg
-Emma-Nnopu, JR 13.2 mpg (Australia National Team U16,17,18,19)
-Nivar, FR 5*, McD AA 11.0 mpg
-Prechtel, SR 5*, McD AA 10.2 mpg
-Bosgana, SO 9.4 mpg (Greek National Team U16,17,18,19)
-Belibi, SR 5*, McD AA 8.5 mpg (The famous 6'1" player who dunks in games since High School)
-Betts, FR 5*, McD AA 7.7 mpg (ESPN's No 1 ranked recruit in 2022 class)

The most interesting is Betts. The number 1 ranked recruit in this years class, they are giving her 7.7 minutes per game despite being top 2 on the team in points, rebound and blocks on a per minute basis.

Even with the prestige of competing for NCs and the Stanford academic status, their ability to retain super star youth players while giving them limited playing time is still amazing. Most of these kids have been playing and training year around for the majority of their lives and and been dominate yet stick around for 10 minutes a game when they know they could get +25 mpg at scores of Power 5 schools.

I saw them play last week and saw the limited minutes Prechtel and Belibi are getting. Mentioned to my wife too bad they didn’t transfer to the UO.

They probably have a better team dynamic and chemistry.
Unlike some of the divas we had when we were loaded with the 5* teams. Just unfortunate that a few were so bad for the team chemistry that caused others to leave. With that said, who knows if one of them would've been better this year had she actually not gotten injured. Then she bolted to LA so fast hard to imagine something else otherwise.

Do you know that to be the case? I know that sometimes that happens. Other times it's conflict with coaching staff, sometimes playing time or role on the team. Other times its homesickness. I have no info on why the 3 left last year or Isai left suddenly this year but I have been curious. I wonder about OSU last year when 4 of 5 starters and a key sub all left. That was a weird one.

44-33 Stanford 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Talent difference is obvious.

Yikes
All true. But at this point, how far can you get with Tehina and Endyia? They aren't going to go toe to toe with the talent level of Stanford and some other teams. They are just so far below that level.
