Hope Gray goes into the portal. Bad shooter and the worst part is she’s a momentum killer. Horrible.

I
hope she does. What happened to our shooters? They blasted three teams in a row and then crap.

Lol. No chance for a true freshman to improve over time, huh? The dynamic of the fan base cracks me up. In one thread we get complaints that players don’t stick around and develop at the program. In the other, we have folks that want kids off the team, because they weren’t polished their true freshman season.

It's maddening that people think if players aren't cutting it after a year, they need to be gone. It's like they don't think players won't ever improve.

My mistake on Gray. I thought she was here last season.

Bummer. Bottom line is over the course of the year, these were two pretty evenly matched teams. The Huskies getting the home court in this one gave them the little edge they needed. The Ducks would likely be advancing if the game were played in Eugene. Regardless, it was still a pretty positive ending to an overall disappointing season. Unless you win it all, you are always going to end with a loss.

Amen, the NIT giving home court to UW was stupid. You get half the attendance plus Oregon had earned the higher seed.

WTF? Why would you want any Freshman to transfer let alone a really good one?

As a True Freshman Gray was selected by the PAC-12 Conference Coaches to the Second Team All-Conference Defensive Team. She plays solid half court defense in both zone and matched with the opposing teams best guard in man. She doesn't reach, plays defense with her feet, an obvious coaches kid.

The PAC-12 coaches also selected her 1st team all Freshman in a conference that had half the McDonalds All Americans from last year playing in it.

She can play either guard spot, doesn't turn the ball over, doesn't commit many fouls, makes her free throws and has an excellent first step with a potential to be a very good slashing scorer when she adjusts to the height of PAC-12 players. She shot an above average .331 from 3 as a freshman (.366 from 3 in conference play). She'll easily be a 12-15 point per game scorer as she improves finishing on her drives.
