WBB lands USF G/F Priscilla Williams

Post by greenyellow »

Oregon has added another transfer, this time from USF G/F Priscilla Williams. A former 5* 2020 recruit who originally signed with Syracuse out of HS, she spent the last year at USF after missing the 2021/22 season with injury.

Sounds like she has to be granted a waiver to play this year since she's already transferred once.

Her minutes last year were miniscule, 6.6 minutes per game average so stats can be weird but regardless she had one of the most unusual stats I have ever seen. She shot 41% from 3 while going an incredible 2 for 20 (10%) on 2 point shots.

She played a lot more minutes her true freshman year at Syracuse and shot 37% from 3 and 38% from 2. Barring development of her game she will be a lot like Boley was in her first couple of years, a 3 point specialist hanging around the 3 point line waiting for a kick-out. Few offensive rebounds, post ups or drives to the basket. But if she can shot 37-41% from 3 you take that.

The problem for her will be Hammel and Scott have shot about the same from 3 and have more complete games. Not sure what Sammie will shoot percentage wise but she is supposed to have a 3 level offensive game which is something that after losing Rogers and Paopao will be sorely needed.

It sounds like she's really been hindered by injuries, first with post-concussion symptoms that kept her out her true SO year and then her ankle last year limiting her availability much of the season.
