Seems like we've forgone exhibition games in exchange for "secret scrimmages". Makes sense, but at the same time sucks we don't get to see the team!

^ Ya it is a bit of a bummer, but thankfully there's so many games in basketball that I feel like we don't miss out too much.
Season starts in about a week. Yikes!

Joe Lunardi's Bracketology has us a #5 in the West playing in the Portland regional where we'd go up against #4 Ohio State with #1 Gonzaga and #2 Baylor.

Weird we're playing so early. Can't imagine it was that hard to get on the Pac 12 network on a Tuesday.

Then given the opponents it makes sense to give courtesy to the TSU fans to play earlier.duckfan22 wrote:duck women play idaho state at 7:30 also on the pac 12 network at mkaTray Dub wrote:Weird we're playing so early. Can't imagine it was that hard to get on the Pac 12 network on a Tuesday.

Definitely lots of new guys. With the starters on the floor, the ball moved, defense held well despite the lack of height. Score was 16-8 or so. With the younger guys now getting time (Kepnang, Soares, Wur, Johnson), TSU has gone on a 8-4 run to close the gap.

You can definitely tell it's the first game with Altman trying lots of different looks/combinations on the floor.

Altman isn't wasting any time getting the new players accustomed to ass-chewings.

I thought it was funny when Ernie Kent noted that transfer players "are used to getting yelled at." hahaGrandpaDuck wrote:Altman isn't wasting any time getting the new players accustomed to ass-chewings.
Ducks closed the first half and opened the second half with their starters, and pushed the lead to 16 as a result. Just look much more organized with all the vets on the floor. I liked what I saw from Bittle in the first.

Texas Southern shot some bricks, but Oregon played a decent opener!
