The lead at half should really have been 20+ but the threes haven't been dropping and they got a little sloppy with the ball.

Nice to see Bittle playing with some physicality there, then found the cutter for a layup

-You can see the potential on defense already, something which just wasn't there last season.
-Team also seems to play a bit more unselfishly too.
-I assume not every game is going to have them hitting only 3-20 from three.
-I've been impressed with Ware and Williams so far.
-FT shooting needs work once again.

Ducks finally broke the game open once they started forcing a bunch of turnovers and some threes finally dropped.

-Our defense is legit. Usually takes team defenses a while to get synced up be we are already on the same page. Sheesh. Impressive.
-offense still needs a playmaker. Since we don’t really have one (maybe Bathelemy will be that) we really need to become experts at feeding our three giants. Our entry passes were terrible in first half.
-Our terrific three bigs are impressive

I was overall happy with what I saw.

I thought a very nice first night for Tyrone Williams. Didn't seem intimidated in his first experience at this level of basketball. Caused some good disruption on defense. But indeed, I hope he really works on his free throw shooting.

Wasn't sure what was going on with Soares. It actually looked like he hobbled for much of the game, but they kept putting him out there. Maybe he was cramping?

Definitely liked all three bigs. Nice to finally see Will sink a few shots towards the end after a mostly tough night in that regard. I thought a solid first game for Barthelemy.

Overall I'm somewhat less worried for the season than I was coming into this game.

Other than the shooting, things looked better than I was expecting. You can't be a really good team without shooting 3's at a decent clip, so a lot of the season is going to be determined by that simple statistic. I think we can tell what this team is going to bring to the table in most other areas......shooting and health are the wildcards.

Yup D was solid and our bigs looked great.

3 point shooting was down. A little nervous that Guerrier and Richardson looked like the bad versions of themselves last year. But it’s one game and both didn’t shoot well.

So do we think Bittle and or Ware can continue being among the better 3 point shooters on this team?

We know Dante is going to be 25+ mpg if he stays healthy, but I'd love to see Bittle and Ware get 20+ for their rebounding and shot blocking which they both might do better than Dante. Given the choice between a 3rd guard or a seven footer who can shoot as well, rebound, pass and block shots I'm going big this year in that third spot. Might give up defensive speed but the talent on this team looks like it leans more to the bigs. (exact opposite of the women's team)

So the first question Altman gets was about using more big combinations and he deftly changed it into 2 minutes talking about camp injuries. Guess we'll have to see in the next few games.
