Women's Basketball: Big News Coming?

Post by gogreen55 »

According to a tweet by Kelly Graves, the Ducks may be getting some good news tomorrow. My hope is that it is a transfer big that can play immediately, to help with our depth crisis.

N’Faly Dante now identifies as a woman and is joining the WBB team, he expects to average 40 PPG, 30 RBG, and 20 BPG.

There are some rumors (nothing official, that I know of) that Hannah Gusters may be transferring to the Ducks. She was the #2 ranked center in the class of 2020, so the potential is there. She apparently got suspended at LSU after transferring there from Baylor (she followed her coach). I don't know what the story is behind it all (attitude issues?), but hopefully a fresh start is all she needs to reach her potential. Here is a snippet from her recruiting profile...
Nike Nationals-July 2019: Low-post prospect brings imposing size to the front court; defends the paint, alters shots, rebounds and initiates the fast break; interior footwork with offensive arsenal in the paint; among the nation's elite prospects in the class of 2020.

I have no idea. I don't even know for sure if Gusters is the "huge news", it is just the rumor flying around for now. I guess we will presumably find out at some point today.

If it is Gusters you couldn't go more 180 in coaches personalities from Mulkey to Graves.

Most WNBA players have off season jobs like playing Pro Ball overseas. Closer to this job Aari McDonald is WBB Recruiting Director at UA in the offseason. Nyara Sabally is an assistant coach for Mark Campbell at Sacramento State.

Yes. It is a fancy name for part time recruiting assistant at which I imagine she'll be hugely valuable.
