I followed the twitter accounts of every SB player who had one when Lombardi was hired just to see any indication of their reaction to her good or bad. I don't believe a single player left over dress code, but the whole Lombardi package hit them wrong over a period of time. They didn't all leave at once and only 4 ended up in Texas with White but every starter except Hailey left within a year. This was off a close knit Top 3 team talent wise, and not one of them left because Lombardi was bringing in a more talented player.

This years exodus is from her players she brought in. Unlike the WBB transfers out, these include most of her star players. In the time of the new transfer rules, coaches need to adapt. You can still be an abrasive asshole if you have the resume to pull it off like Mulkey, Auriemma or Gasso, but for unproven coaches learning player retention skills is a must.

Yeah was gonna say, doubt it’s the dress code, so that makes sense.

Personality and style can run people off the wrong way. I

Ouch. Brooke Yanez is transferring to UCLA.

Yes something is amiss will so many transfers. How do we know what is going on?

I would say similar to the WBB recent transfers, the players in the team are just not clicking, and definitely not clicking with what the coach is looking for.
Sometimes it's the wrong fit.
OREGON needs players like how Mike White rebuilt from such a bad state before him.

I have a bad feeling it will go back to that state if they don't get it together.

Oregon received a commitment last week from Duke OF Kyla Morris. Seems more like a utility/bench player than a high-level Pac-12 quality starter.

RHP Morgan Scott from UNC-Greensboro is the newest transfer into the program. She was the Southern Conference's pitcher of the year. She faced Oregon this past season, where she held Oregon to 4 runs through 9 innings before finally tiring and giving up a lot of hits and runs in the 10th.

Ducks are getting Loyola Maramount INF Alyssa Daniell, a two-time all-WCC honoree who is originally from Happy Valley, OR.

We have like ZERO standouts on the team or coming in. Unlike the days where we had three legit pitchers.
This Missy Era might be a middle of the Pac type of time for softball

When all other reasons are exhausted it might be time to look at WRI.

3B Rachel Cid joins Yanez down at UCLA. Another ouch. A lot of talent left but not much has come back. Not to mention, they also took 2 of Arizona's top players, including last season's Freshman of the Year.

It's also the making transferring easy, without losing eligibility. Why would Yanez not want to play for UCLA, a powerhouse every year. UO SB is very mediocre again. In fact, MBB, WBB, and FB are moving towards mediocrity, after a number of good years. Don't be surprised to see top players transfer every year. Bunker is our top player now. If Carlson continues to improve, she might be somewhat good. Our hope is that Hanson and Breedlove develop into the pitchers they were hyped to be out of HS. Breedlove hasn't shown much so far.

do we have any expectations this year?

Is Lombardi doing as expected? This will be her 5th year at Oregon (keeping the COVID year in mind)
