NDSU fan here. Looking forward to the season opener! Should be a very intriguing matchup as it seems you guys do not have much depth and lost Porter. NDSU is mostly young but do return quite a bit of the roster. We finished 6th in the Summit League last season but expect to finish much better this season. We bring back 3 starters lead by 6-7 F Mike Tveidt. Who is our lone starter back from our 2009 NCAA Tourney berth. Avg. 15 ppg. He is fairly athletic, can hit shots from just about anywhere on the floor. I expect him to matchup with Singler. Our other stud we return is Eric Carlson. He avg. 14 ppg last season and is a 6-6 post for us. Undersized, but he's physical and can guard guys a lil bigger than him. We do not have a ton of size down low just like you guys. We are also very young in the post with 2 So. and a true frosh playing for us. One other guy of note is Taylor Braun. He is a redshirt frosh from Newberg, Oregon. He is expected to start at SG. He'll for sure have some family in the crowd.

Looking forward to the matchup but if I had to predict I would predict the Ducks win. Also, congrats on your football season thus far. haha. We have a pretty active message board if any of you want to check it out: http://www.bisonville.com/forum/index.php

Thanks for the info. I don't know how our team is going to do since they have only played one exhibition game. There are some key injuries to Jay-R Strowbridge and Jeremy Jacob right now that should really affect the early non-conference games. Every game is going to be questionable until we actually see how well Dana Altman has utilized what he has left over from the previous coaching staff and after all the transfers.

Welcome to the forum! Myself along with probably most Duck fans are unsure of what to expect this season but don't hold high expectations, there is not a lot of experience or talent on the current roster and of course with new coaches comes a new system so it will most likely take time for the kids to make the adjustment but with the new arena and the new coach off to a good start with recruiting things might good in the future for the Ducks.

Thanks for the info.

Oregon is most likely going to be terrible this season. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ducks only win 10 games. It's not the fault of Oregon's new coach - the Ducks only have 10 players on scholarship this year after 5 players (the project starting SG, SF, and C) left the team after Ernie Kent was fired. Oregon's new coach, Dana Altman, has received verbal commitments from some very good recruits.

I would be surprised if NDSU won this game, but it could be very close.

A quick overview of the Ducks starters:
PG: Malcolm Armstead - Oregon's best player. Armstead is a very quick PG, who gets to the rim at will, is a solid passer, and gets a lot of steals. He's undersized and his 3 point shot is inconsistent.
SG: Teondre Williams- arguably the best athlete on the team. Williams is a prolific dunker and showed some potential as a defender last season. In high school, he was not a great outside shooter, but he showed some improvement in this area when he did play.
SF: EJ Singler- very talented in state player. He's the younger brother of Kyle Singler. Good shooter and a fairly good rebounder.
PF: Jeremy Jacob- the most underrated player on the team. Great finisher, good athlete, solid rebounder, good defender. Unfortunately is injured and won't be back until late December.
Tyrone Nared- NYC native who just transferred to Oregon from a community college in Rhode Island. Nared is supposedly a pretty good rebounder and shot blocker and can also shoot from mid range. Haven't seen him play yet. Will be starting in place of Jacob.
C: Joevan Catron- 5th year senior (medical redshirt) who won't be playing against NDSU. Undersized big man (6'6). Pretty good rebounder (for his size), below average defender, inconsistent scorer. Had extended his shooting range out to around 15 feet.
Martin Seiferth- 6'10 freshman from Germany. He will be starting in place of Catron.

Bench players:
Jay-R Strowbridge (injured)- senior transfer/grad student from Jacksonville St. Good shooter. Won't be playing.
Garrett Sim- undersized shooting guard, inconsistent shooter. Big disappointment.
Johnathan Loyd- freshman point guard, supposed to be very quick, a good passer, and a good shooter. Should definitely see 20+ minutes. Undersized (5'8-5'9)
Nicholas Fearn- walkon guard, supposedly impressed the coaches. Injured, may play?
John Elorriaga- walkon guard, also injured.

There's another walkon whose name escapes me. As you can see, Oregon has no depth and is going to be pretty terrible this year. I do expect the team to play hard though.

I've heard nothing about Catron not playing. He looked good against NCU, and I didn't hear about any injuries during practice since...

I must have been wrong about Catron. I didn't realize that he played against Northwest Christian. I thought that Altman said that nagging injuries were going to keep him out for a few weeks.

It should be the same process as claiming football tickets. Claim your ticket online and then bring your student id.
