I read that if Wilson signs with the ducks(he will make his decision March 8), then Kent will definitely be back next year. No player would sign this late if their coach was going to get canned. At least that's what the article said, which you can read over at ducksportsnews.

I was thinking the same thing 99...to get Wilson we'd have to keep Kent for at least another year! Wilson looks like a game changer...

We will see March 8th (I thought it was the 12th?)!

GO DUCKS!!

I believe March 12th is Bryce Brown. Whatever happens, it's going to be a big weekend for the ducks.

A brand new arena, Nike, success in the PAC-10, success in the NCAA Tournament, Nike, playing time, and of course the beautiful city of Eugene. There isnt a whole lot more you can realisticly ask for.

Success in the pac-10? Kent has a losing record in conference play at Oregon. I wouldn't exactly say success in the NCAA tournament either, because in all but 2 seasons under Kent, they have failed to make the tournament or went out in the first round.
Aside from the national championship won in the 1800's, what did the Oregon basketball program accomplish. Ernie Kent has built this program into a winner and put players into the NBA. Anyone who had high expations for this year is crazy, and I am not surpised we dont have win in PAC-10 play. EK can get fired tomorrow its not going to change the fact that we dont have an experienced low post presence or PG. Its not going to turn true freshman into seniors. The only scoring threat on this team is TP and all he does and dribbles and throws up 3's. This team will be good, and will get better if EK continues to recruit the talent that he has brought to Eugene, no need to throw him under the bus now.

I hate to say this because I would love to see this kid playing for Oregon but if Kent is around for another few years this kids talent will be a waste and this kid won't develop as well as if he went to either of those other schools. I am not normally a negaduck but Kent is really frustrating me :x

So, other teams can still offer playing time, richer tradition, better NBA success, and better coaching. I like Ernie as a recruiter but as a coach, yikes.
