I am curious about the RB from AR. 5'9 220 and runs a 4.4.... That is something I would like to see.

Good find. Gotta like that he has us on top, maybe we could get an early commit out of him if we offer early.

Here's a little more on Cross: http://recruiting.scout.com/2/786162.html

“I get the most mail and interest from Wake Forest, Oregon and Maryland at this point,” Cross said. “There is plenty of other mail obviously, but those seem to be the most serious right now. I actually camped at Maryland, but I got injured, so I had to sit out for most of the camp which I wasn’t happy about. I was excited to get down there and compete with the best there are.”

As a sophomore, Cross rushed for 1653 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had 853 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver and made 43 tackles on defense.

I wonder if the 4.68 40 would scare us off from the QB...perhaps not with his size?

Just for the sake of fomenting discourse... Try this guy on for size...

http://hscalifornia.scout.com/a.z?s=153 ... id=3904526

4* Valhalla HS (El Cajon, California) QB, Peter Thomas... 6'5/200.

During his 2008 junior season at El Cajon (Calif.) Valhalla, threw for 3,161 yards on 68% passing, with 28 touchdown passes to five interceptions. Ran for six touchdowns. In the CIF Championship game, was 25-for-33 for 308 yards.

Threw for 1,960 yards and eight touchdowns during his 2007 sophomore season at El Cajon (Calif.) Valhalla. Also ran for three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass for the Norsemen.

And his only current offers are from Boston College and Maryland???

Check out the throw at the 1:10 point of this video, and again at 1:35... There is another at the 2:00 mark where he takes a shot as he passes again. All of these were as a sophomore. There are several more passing highlights of #4 before the end of the video.

At the 2:35 mark he has a TD reception on a long pass that looks strangely reminiscent of one of Joey's well remembered highlights.

This next video has quite a few highlights of Thomas footwork and escapability (It was actually supposed to be a highlight film of #65, 2010 DT (6'/190 ponds? Yeah, right! Tell me another one!) prospect RJ Braun, from El Capitan... Thomas doesn't look that fast, but seems to use his feet to good advantage.

Thanks for the links wounded. Peter looks like a solid pro-style QB, thus the offers from Boston College and Maryland. It doesn't look like he would be an ideal fit for the Ducks' offense though.....just not enough foot speed for any defenses at the college level to worry about him running. He kinda reminds me of what Brady Leaf looked like in high school.

We gotta go after D.J. Jones though just look at that ypc average! We already offered him. Be interesting to see who handles recruiting on him.

Denison HS, of Denison, Texas, is a 4A school playing in Region 2, District 9.

In Texas, 1A is 300 or less students, 2A is 300-599, 3A has 600-899, 4A enrollment ranges from 900 to 1999 students, and 5A, the largest, is over 2,000 students.

Odds are, Denison (Which is located ) has some decent competition. Denison is located, however in the north central part of Texas, so a considerable distance from the main population centers.

Denison finished 7-0 in league, 12-1 overall. The only loss came in the state playoffs against Sulphur Springs, who have a skinny 6'3.5" safety named Bryant Jackson.

DJ Jones was the league leader with 2953 yards, 845 more than the next leading rusher. He scored 236 points, 102 more than McKinney HS's Brett Heldt, who was also the league's #2 rusher. (Thats 35 rush TDs, and 3 receiving TDS)

An interesting side note: The #3 rusher and scorer was another Denison player... Junior QB Jordan Taylor, who played in 5 games (All wins, BTW), and rushed 52 times for 647 yards (A 12.37 YPC avg.) and 6 TDs. He also passed 35/54 (64.8% completion rate) for 429 yards, 6 TDs, and 4 INTs, with 1 fumble.

Considering that Barr will be a highly rated, national recruit, with offers from every major program, slim to none. Oregon isn't going to suddenly start to become a national recruiting power and landing all 5* recruits.
