Re: Blazers Talk
Nate is an okay coach, his biggest problem is that he does not mesh with Roy. Roy doesn't want an up-tempo game, and he demands the ball in the 4th quarter and we're forced to play nothing but iso. Portland may not be "better" without Roy, but the offense tends to flow much better when he's out. Nate's also built his reputation on a couple seasons -- Sonics in '05 (?) and Portland in '09 -- where both teams set franchise records for three-point shooting. Defense is optional, and a poor shooting night almost always dooms the team.
Personally, I think the Blazers are in the worst possible position a franchise can be in. They're too good to tank it and rebuild through the draft, they're not good enough to ever get out of the first round of the playoffs. That's mediocrity at its finest, with no easy way out with all the money they have tied in to a couple guys.

Re: Blazers Talk
Love the pickup by the blazers. G-force is gonna give us a lot of flexibility with future trades and could be the push we need to the 2nd round (knock on wood). Sad to see Joel and Dante go, but they don't bring home championships.

It sounds like we may get Joel back by the playoffs.

Love this trade for us. Wallace adds a lot of toughness to our team and is just a really good player in general.

Re: Blazers Talk
Sounds like Przybilla could be bought out by Charlotte and then come back to Portland after a month. He hasn't done a lot this season but would give Portland some more depth. If not him, it sounds like Troy Murphy may be available from GS after they buy him out.

Great win tonight, loved the fight and passion these guys play with. No center and they still beat a very good team. Can't wait until Camby and Wallace get in there. Look out OKC.

Re: Blazers Talk
Couldn't agree more. In early talks there was word Batum might have to be dealt to get someone like Harris, Wallace, or Granger. But man to keep our main core and pick up someone like Wallace is a great move by this team.TheMaehlMan wrote:Love this trade for us. I'm excited to see him play.
Btw what a game tonight!!

Have loved Gerald for three or fours year now, I had him in fantasy last year and he was a beast. Great move by Cho to get him for next to nothing. Hopefully Greg will come back next season and make us a contender.

He's looked very good since the trade and I'm glad that Batum has played really good as well.UOducksTK1 wrote:Couldn't agree more. Wooooooow!!!! What a game tonight, glad to the team never give up. Great steals by Matthews and Miller, and Batum's two ft's and gw shot. I thought Lamarcus could've been a little more agressive tonight, he needs to get a lot better at foul shot's in the fourth quarter. It seems 60-70% of the time he misses at least one of two down in the final few minutes.

What an incredible game, so glad I got to go. It was insane in the Rose Garden after Batum got the game-winner, never been to a Blazer game with that much electricity in the building.
Go Blazers!

Re: Blazers Talk
About the only part I watched of the game was the last 2 seconds of the game and it was amazing to watch the series of plays to end it. The Spur-Blazers games in Portland always seem to have fantastic finishes.
