Donahue put his enviable photoshop skills to work this week, creating eight potential new floors including a palm tree-framed court at Miami, a KFC logo-splashed court for Louisville and Vegas-inspired court for UNLV.
A lifelong Oregon State and Gonzaga fan who grew up hating the Ducks, Donahue said his intent was to make the courts as gaudy and ugly as possible in order to parody Oregon's new orange and tan fir tree-framed floor. As a designer, he appreciates the originality of Oregon's court, but as a basketball fan he hates how distracting it is for players and TV viewers.

Those are pretty sick honestly. CU & LSU ones are probably my faves.

Those are the ones I liked too, but they are a little busy to put on a floor in real-life.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Those are pretty sick honestly. CU & LSU ones are probably my faves.

The complainers all drive 1995 beige Volvos. They wouldn't drive a Ferarri because it too red and the exhaust is so loud it distracts from driving.
Position placement is everything. When you run the channels and see an Oregon game flash by for just a second there is no doubt it's Oregon. Except for KU with that big wacky bird most courts are indistinguishable. Actually I like some of the designs in the link.
I'm on my way next week, San Diego to Eugene, for the Cal game. I can't wait.

Ok, I am one of the complainers. Love all the different uniforms, loved the neon socks, hate the floor.
I hate the floor not because of the concept but because of the poor execution of it. Maybe they should have hired this guy because most all of these "mocking" ones look great.

This. And it applies to everything Oregon. Watch an NBA game & sometimes there's a fan wearing some college teams hat in the stands. A lot of times you can't really tell what University he's repping & it takes a few different looks to figure out what team it is. If a fan is wearing a Duck hat with the O, not only do you know right away what it is, most of the times it stands out & catches your eye. In the past month I've seen people wearing Duck hats on TV a bunch of different times. One was a guy at an Atlanta Hawks game in ATL & there was another at the XGames. It was actually one of the Xgames competitors' family members sporting a sick green & yellow Duck hat. Thought that was pretty cool.ducksvb6 wrote:The complainers all drive 1995 beige Volvos. Phil Knight isn't a billionaire by accident. Him & his marketing team know exactly what they're doing. And the U of O is their spoiled marketing child, we get the best they've got.

The Oregon "O" created by Nike was pure marketing genius. It is one of the most recognizable logos around now that Oregon is one of the top CFB teams. Having an equally distinguishable floor for the basketball team can only help raise the team's profile.dthomas=ddixon wrote:This. And it applies to everything Oregon.
