Deantre Lewis, ASU's backup RB last year, was shot in the ass by a stray bullet while visiting home in Norco, Cali. An update to the story's link I heard on 95.5 that luckily he's ok and there was no structural damage, he should be recovered by the time training camp opens.
Update: found a link to back up 95.5, he has been released and no muscle damage found, predicted to make full recovery.

Re: Zona St. RB Shot (scary crap)
In 1969, at the age of 14, I was struck in the thigh by an errant bullet (22 caliber), that luckily was so close to being spent it didn't penetrate all three layers of heavy clothing (It happened during the big snowfall that may of the older Lane County residents like to talk about.) I was wearing. It actually damaged the material enough I was able to easily push my finger through it at the point of impact.
I think it would have actually healed faster had the projectile penetrated, rather than producing a massive bruise on my leg that took almost six weeks to heal.
I hope Lewis has a quick recovery. That's some scary stuff, any way you look at it.

ASU RB Deantre Lewis shot in the buttocks
visiting family in LA. Wasn't a hit or anything, just another "stray bullet" in LA and he looks to make a full recovery.

Sounds like you've had a lot close calls, in addition to all the injuries you have had over the years.woundedknees wrote:In 1969, at the age of 14, I was struck in the thigh by an errant bullet (22 caliber), that luckily was so close to being spent it didn't penetrate all three layers of heavy clothing (It happened during the big snowfall that may of the older Lane County residents like to talk about.) Hard to believe that any young person, with a chance, would want to get out of that area.
