It'd be pretty cool to win the CBI championship. I know it doesn't mean much, but for Altman to come in and take this team to any postseason championship game and WIN is incredible. Especially when you take into account our lack of quality talent.

I am excited to see what happens... If the Ducks win, it is 21 wins to start the Altman tenure, which is, IIRC, 3 years earlier than 20 wins was achieved at Creighton.
The guy can coach, and teach, as well as motivate.
This should be a great ride.

Win or lose Altman has to have some national consideration for
coach of the year. He has taken a team with some talent but not deep
to heights people would have laughed at had you predicted it. The guy
can flat out coach. He makes zero excuses when team plays bad except
it was bad coaching. He is a great teacher, you can tell by how his team
plays. Most of these kids were not his recruits, but yet they bought into
his system.
The future of duck basketball looks to be in good hands. The incoming recruits
next year should help Oregon compete in the PAC12 in the upper half.
His team is fun to watch, watching an actual offense is a nice change.
19 assists on 26 baskets is amazing. That is team ball. That is how teams
devoid of talent win. Look at Butler, not the same talent as a lot of teams but
yet playing as a team their in the elite eight. Way to go Ducks win or lose...

So far, all the nominees seem to be guys like Jaime Dixon, Steve Lavin, and the North Carolina coach, BJ Hill... Big Dancers all.
Doesn't sound as if doing less with more is part of the equation.
How does this season compare with Oregon's biggest turn around?

This season may not be the biggest turnaround, but it sure has energized the fan base again that Kent had lost the last couple of seasons. Everyone thought that opening MKA with a bad, short-handed team would be disastrous, but the arena was soldout for most games and the CBI gmes, while not sellouts, have provided a half-full arena that allows the AD to break even on hosting them.woundedknees wrote:So far, all the nominees seem to be guys like Jaime Dixon, Steve Lavin, and the North Carolina coach, BJ Hill...
