More Tressel
So much for the flimsy "confidentially" excuse. Apparently "Honest" Jim Tressel forwarded emails about star QB to Pryor's mentor.

Re: More Tressel
someone pointed out earlier how every coach who has been caught lying to the ncaa has been fired. I think he survives the axe on this one simply because of his record against michigan.maxduck wrote:So much for the flimsy "confidentially" excuse. Re: More Tressel
Oregon probably would have gotten the death penalty for what OSU has done since the NCAA is so willing to nail the up-and-comers and lower tier schools.

My question about this is; if Tressel is so close to Sarniak that he is feeling the need to forward him this info and not his own employer, is Sarniak leading players to OSU?

But the NCAA would never think that a recruit/player using a car owned by a booster is an improper benefit.Duck07 wrote:you guys remember this pic, right?

I'm making it my personal policy to not comment on "mentor" relationships from here on out. I would just be speculating on a relationship whose dynamics I have no insight on.
From the way our players have been lambasted for similar situations, I'll wait and see.

Yes, the "mentor" moniker is yet to be clarified. But this is a person, reportedly, outside of the 'tOSU' heirachy and in no way should have been 'in the loop'! If this does turn out to be factual, it is UGLY!!!!!Elduderino wrote:I'm making it my personal policy to not comment on "mentor" relationships from here on out. "Who is Ted Sarniak"
"Sarniak, 67, is a prominent businessman in Pryor's hometown of Jeannette, Pa. He befriended the quarterback years ago and accompanied him on recruiting trips to Ohio State and other universities."

""Jeannette Specialty Glass is the longest-running glass company in the city," Howard says. The factory has been in existence since 1904. Ted and Kathleen Sarniak have owned the facility since April 1976.
"It was founded by a family named Crock, and the factory stayed in that family until we purchased it," Ted Sarniak says. "It was previously known as Jeannette Shade and Novelty. As we got into making more items, we changed the name to Jeannette Specialty Glass."

"Things that make you go HMmmm...?"
The Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office has cleared a Jeannette businessman and a police officer of a bribery allegation after the officer failed to charge the man with drunken driving and refusing a blood test following an accident.
Ted Sarniak, who owns Jeannette Specialty Glass/Oceana, crashed his car into a utility pole in Jeannette on Oct. 28, 2006. Police did not arrest Sarniak, even though he smelled of alcohol and was uncooperative with police, according to District Attorney John Peck.
Peck said there is no evidence that Sarniak's subsequent donation of $4,000 to the Jeannette Police Department to purchase Taser guns was a reward for escaping arrest on a drunken-driving charge.
"You have to be lawfully arrested at the time you are asked to take a Breathalyzer or blood-alcohol draw," Peck said. "We typically don't review a decision to charge or not to charge."
"When patrolman Justin Scalzo arrived, he "found Sarniak uncooperative, smelling of alcohol, glass in his hair and a damaged windshield," according to Peck."

Re: More Tressel
Sounds shadier than Lyles ever has. Sarniak has known criminal offenses, but it's Lyles who is deemed shady. Makes you wonder what some people have against Lyles down in TX.
