Sure. Not as good as a Pac-10 championship or tournament title, but CIT will do; Dana Altman's
first postseason silverware as well!!

Amazing how so many are choosing to complain about the mid-court stripe, rather than focusing on the effort, growth, and toughness that went into getting to 21 wins.

Since the odds are that Oregon wouldn't have hosted a home game in any other tournament, it probably wouldn't be an issue right now if the Ducks had played in any other post-season event.

If the PAC 10 office, or the NCAA, had an issue with the current stripe, the winds of change would already be blowing.

That's not saying a request for changing the current configuration won't come down. I just see the chances of Oregon repainting it voluntarily as being very slim.

The whole mid-court line is being blown out of proportion, even by Schroeder in today's R-G. He says it causes a lot of problems, but then mentions that there's been only 2 backcourt violations. That's not nearly enough to warrant any type of changes. The only reason I see Oregon possibly changing it is if they want to host NCAA Tournament games, but even then the NCAA could just make Oregon put decals on, like they do with other hosting sites.

I hope that they add a line at midcourt next year. I like the court but hate that a game was decided by the lack of a line.

I remember being at the Weber State game, trying to locate half court line and going, "I know
this will come into play!" The fact that Williams was the one who saw the back court violation
won't help. Foes can point out that is an advantage. Although maybe our legal department can
find something that allows us to keep it. If it was the Mac you can bet they would.

The guy wouldnt have seen the line if it was bright green, he was so focused on Armstead he just kept backing up til he crossed it...He didnt even look til he was already passed it, you have to be aware of your positioning at all times

You guys realize that every detail on that floor had to be pre-approved by the PAC-10, as well as the NCAA, before being implemented, right?

That's the same reason Boise State and Eastern Washington are able to have alternative colored turf on their respective fields.

Unless, or until the Ducks are instructed to do so, it is not very likely a change will take place, except through anact of charity on the AD's part.

There was no way it would be changed mid-season, this year, because it would have entailed a major refinishing project to do it right, and simply putting a strip of tape down would have created a big liability. Imagine some player catching his toe on it, and tearing a ligament, ot breaking a wrist...

I was in section 201 & could tell immediately the guy went over & back. I could see the line from all the way up at the top. And the kid & Creighton have no excuse, the line may not stand out but theres a GIANT O in the middle that should probably let you know you're getting close to the half court line. Schroeder is an idiot for writing that article today. Multiple opposing coaches have said its not an issue at all, including Robinson from the beevs.

Schroeder just wanted to find something to bitch about. If he watched the video, he would clearly see that Antoine Young never looked to where he was and just kept backing up as Armstead closed on him. The line could have been neon lighting and he still would have stepped over. This was just a case of poor court awareness on Young's part, not a poorly designed court.
