Re: Oregon Wins The CBI
It's hard to guess what this team could or would have accomplished without several key departures... Losing 2 bigs in Dunigan and Crittle certainly hurt the depth in the middle, while Wilson and Humphrey showed flashes of potential that might have been valuable.
Whether the chemistry would have been right for a more successful performance by this team will never be known.

Who do you see giving us an inside post up game to give the shooters some space to shoot threes oregontrack? I didn't see anyone on this years team that could post up and create a shot like Catron.oregontrack wrote:We'll be quite a bit better next year. Catron certainly had his moments, but he's hardly irreplaceable.

I think that Jacob had the potential, if he had healthy knees... The sad thing is, even if he remains healthy next season, he is a one and done. I can't see any way he gets a medical hardship waiver for an additional year of eligibility.

But he's better than having no one at all. I think he'll be fine next season as it sounds like he tried coming back too soon from the previous surgery.woundedknees wrote:I think that Jacob had the potential, if he had healthy knees... Emory avg 18 and 7 while being sick and and playing at 30lbs under his regular weight, and to me that's impressive. I can see him coming in and avg 10 and 7 and that lightens the loss of Catron a lot, given the fact that Singler has only gotten better every year so far. As a FR Ej avg 6 ppg, this year 11ppg and during the post season (pac 10 and CBI) he upped that over 15 ppg. I could defiantly see him avg 14-15 a game next year.

Emory doing that also impressed me. His stats probably would have been so much better if he had more body weight to throw around down low.buckmarkduck wrote:Emory avg 18 and 7 while being sick and and playing at 30lbs under his regular weight, and to me that's impressive. Emory certainly passes the eyeball test... Hope he can get with the Oregon training staff to build back up to his physical potential.
Any chance Altman sets up a European Tour this summer?

Certainly sounds like the European Tour is going to happen by the way he's talked about it.woundedknees wrote:Emory certainly passes the eyeball test... Hope he can get with the Oregon training staff to build back up to his physical potential.

Losing Catron will hurt, but we will be a much better shooting team next season..which is far more important. I don't know if we will be an NCAA tournament team, but I doubt we will have as many long and painful droughts as this season.

Going to miss the Maehl Man
