He had his good moments and bad, but you're right, he really didn't break out until his senior year. Looking at his stats, his freshman year looks almost identical to Sim.

One thing that kills Oregon is the inability to get a quality PG recruit on board while the existing leader is still in place to learn from... AB was seriously slowed in his developement by the early departure of LR, IMO. A year working with the veteran, instead of being thrown to the lions, would have been priceless.

Agreed. I think now Brown and Sim are getting that chance though. While TP isn't a natural 1, he does understand what a PG does and can teach Brown and Sim how it should be played in our offense. I think both Sim and Brown have a lot of potential, and I think next year Brown might be ready to start at PG and move TP over to the 2 spot.

If we don't have the type of point guard we need to run Ernie's offense, then shouldn't Ernie change the offense to better fit the players and talent that we do have?

That would mean making adjustments....Ernie doesn't do those.

I know how you feel. People argue that he's a great coach because of the Elite 8's but it's easy to see he lacks coaching skills when you simply watch a game. You can get by with good players, the bad coaching comes out when you have players that actually need coaching (this year) & can't do everything themselves (the Elite 8 years).

I really wish that Oregon had a coach who could put together a consistent offense with the sort of bell to bell tenacity and effort that existed during the Harter years.

It's really as simple as that, IMO. 2-14 or 3-15 or 2-16. Any of those finishes mean someone has to take the fall, someone besides the players.

Right because we can bring in a coach that has had more success...Please please please show me a coach that will even conceivably come here if we decide to fire Kent...Come on do your research and show me one...And don't say Mark Few because he hasn't had near the success(1 elite 8 along time ago and thats it) and even beyond that he isn't coming here.

So what you are saying is that we can't find a better coach than the one we have who maintains a .47% winning percentage in conference? Love the high standards you have for our basketball team. "Can't do any better than a losing record" You might be fine with that, I am not. And I am MOST CERTAIN we could find someone who can do better. Look at the support this team is getting. Our football team finds a way, NOW IS THE TIME for basketball to do it too.

We found Chip Kelly for our football team, so why are you so sure we couldn't find someone better than Ernie for our basketball team?

It's not always the best idea to stick with "good enough" in life.
