Re: next OSU buckeyes HC
I find it hard to believe that Urban Meyer, whose father passed away on Friday, has agreed to this job. Not to mention, Fickell is still under contract...as well as the impending sanctions. I mean, why accept the job not knowing what the sanctions are? What would Coach Meyer do if OSU just got hammered? Seems fishy to me...

I saw that the Buckeyes would consider giving Meyer 5-6 million a year and 5-6 years guaranteed. That might be enough to force him out of his retirement.....but then again he was on top of the world at Florida and making a good chunk of change and just left so who knows with him

Well, tOSU has a 2:15p new conference and sources are claiming 7 years/40million for Urban. Still think its stupid if they accept a bowl game because then Urban will get to deal with more sanctions as opposed to getting some of it out of the way.

Well, it clearly shows that tOSU just wants to win and doesn't really care about changing their culture. Otherwise the huge rap sheet that Meyer's players wracked up while he was at Florida would have been a pretty big obstacle to his hire.

Not all that surprised he's going to be their coach. Once Tressel was fired, he was the logical replacement that the OSU AD wanted. He's a native Ohioan, did his graduate assistance at OSU, and they can throw a buttload of money at him.
