Another Tupou...mops?

Post by snapt »

Mops or anyone else...any chatter about Sitani Tupuo? Assuming he's Fenuki's bro, attending the same CC (Sierra) as Fenuki did and Littlejohn. The local papers talked him up as a stud DT and he was all conference alongside Littlejohn. No info on him though on scout or rivals. Might be a shot in the dark but I was wondering why he has garnered no attention whatsoever, especially considering who his bro's are and that Sierra sends some kids to big time programs.

Edit just found his stat line and he looks good, especially when you consider he had Littlejohn playing behind him. Must be grade issues.

DT Sitani Tupou, 6’4”/290

Sitani took his mission for the Latter Day Saints before playing for Sierra College, so he is older than many JC players...

BTW, USC has current Sophomore DT Christian Tupou on their roster (#2, behind Spicer, and ahead of Jurrell Casey, another miss by the Oregon recruiters). He is the youngest of 5 brothers in this clan that included Mahonri, Sebastian, Sitani, and Fenuki, all of whom played high school football in the Sacramento area. (per NorCalPreps.com)

Per an Oct. 2, 2008 article in the Portland Tribune, "Fenuki says that the 6-2, 280 Christian wanted to attend Oregon, but the Ducks recruited D-tackles Simi Fili and Myles Wade the same year (2007). (Aarrrrrgh!!!)

Ouch....Thanks Coach Gray for telling the staff that Fili and Wade were good grade wise....we could have made a late move on him had they known.

How many of us would bet money that this is the type of thing that gets you fired or leased at the end of your contract...Gray should have known better. I have no problem with him "going for it" with Fili and Wade but as we know now it has screwed us big time!

That's exactly what I said on the old board and was told I didn't know what I was talking about!

Wounded thanks for the info, missions can really get guys forgotten about. As a DT he had 14.5 TFL and 3 sacks, not to mention the success of Littlejohn and Sierra's other star backer. Some of that has to be attributed to good DT play so I was amazed there was nothing out there on this guy.
