Outside of Batum and LA, do we have any players that we know are legit starters? Even then, say Thomas Robinson or MKG falls to 6, with the Blazers talent level, can they pass on him?
I think it'd be fairly easy to move up a spot or two in this draft and I think we should. I think Robinson, MKG etc are much better options than Harrison Barnes who will likely be there at 6. Barnes is gonna be good, but as a 3rd option scoring 14 ppg where as the other two guys can be stars and with Robinson I think maybe even a Blake Griffin lite. Move up to 4 or 5 and secure one of those guys by just moving our 2nd rounders or nolan smith
I agree, but we're talking moving up 1 to 2 spots. Both Sacramento and cleveland like Barnes so moving back and gaining a backup pg might be ok in their eyes. Blazers traded the 4 and viktor khryapa to move up to #2 and take Aldridge in 06. I think it's feasible.

I get what you're saying, but I think the perceived drop off from #4 to #6 is fairly substantial this year.
For some reason NBA GM's were extremely high on Tyrus Thomas after that NCAA run.
and I'm not sure Nolan Smith is capable of being a backup PG.
But if that's all it took to move up then that would be awesome.

Well it'd all hinge on someone falling in love with Harrison Barnes. There are reports that Cleveland really likes him and that he is best friends with Kyrie who is pushing hard for them to draft him
Never draft for need, always draft the best available player and adjust your needs from there. That being said, I'm hoping they take the best player available at 6 and package the 11 pick for a pg like rondo.
Don't forgot that Portland has hickson on the cheap. While his natural position is PF, he has a toughness that Aldridge doesn't and can play as a smaller center as well

LOL, if the Blazers offered that much I guarentee you Boston would take that in a heart beat. They already considered trading him once, and it's no secret that him and Rivers don't see eye to eye. Boston will be looking to take that team apart in the very near future. They either dismantle that team soon, or risk having the players being too old to keep up with the younger guys and too old to trade. Portland may not have the pieces to trade for Rondo, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him in a different uniform before the trade deadline next season.

Of course they would. Not to mention, Celtic's big three are getting old, they will need to rebuild sometime soon. Rondo would probably be a keeper piece, but to get a premier relatively young PF, and Batum + 2 1st rounders, that's GOLD in terms of rebuilding.
