Pac-12 QBs this year
How bad are the QBs in the Pac-12 this year? Seems very thin compared to most years.

I agree it looks that way now. Halfway through the season though, and we could be singing a different tune. It wouldn't surprise me to see some of the new guys start to garner some positive recognition pretty quickly.UOducksTK1 wrote:How bad are the QBs in the Pac-12 this year? Barkely & Price are established and well regarded. I think whoever ends up starting for us will likely get a decent amount of attention (assuming they perform up to the expectations I think we all have). Jeff Tuel has the Mike Leach factor on his side, and an opener with BYU to spark interest. I think Eubanks at ASU is intriguing, and his rival Matt Scott could be a great fit for RR. Hundley was supposed to be the savior at UCLA, Maynard could rebound with a lot of talent around him, and Mannion is another year older. Whoever starts at Stan will get lots of pub at least for being Luck's replacement.
I think there is a lot of talent at the position in the conference. Just not much proven talent.

Did the QB Mannion replaced at OSU (forgot his name) transfer out? Seems I heard that he was going to.

Yeah Ryan Katz went to San Diego ST I believe. Pretty sure he stayed it out at OSU to graduate so he can play right awayRanDux wrote:Did the QB Mannion replaced at OSU (forgot his name) transfer out? Seems I heard that he was going to.

That is correct. I believe in a relatively short amount of time, Katz, Dillon Baxter and one more high profile player transferred in. Since then, Baxter has been kicked off but they did infuse some good talent into their program.lukeyrid13 wrote:Yeah Ryan Katz went to San Diego ST I believe. Matt Scott at Arizona is the guy that I'll be watching closely this year. He could thrive in Rich Rodriguez's offense this season. The guy is extremely talented and Arizona wisely redshirted him last year.
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”
