In addition, he was ranked 43rd among qualified NBA point guards in Player Efficiency Rating, making him worse than most team's backup point guards.
He will be sorely missed.

CSNNW. com reported blazers turned down an offer of Derrick Williams and two first round picks for Batum, and are having his agent flying into town so Nic will take a phyiscal, so looks like they are serious about matching which I had always thought.

Re: Blazers
Darren Wolfson, a Minneapolis based ESPN contributor who covers the T-Wolves, is saying that deal was never actually on the table. I don't know who to believe in this whole mess, but Batum is all but locked to be in Portland next season.thomas time wrote:CSNNW. com reported blazers turned down an offer of Derrick Williams and two first round picks for Batum, and are having his agent flying into town so Nic will take a phyiscal, so looks like they are serious about matching which I had always thought.

Re: Blazers
They are going to interview, from an article I read, about 15-20 candidates in Vegas so it can't really hurt to talk to him. I still think the top candidates are Brian Shaw, Malone from GS, SA assistant Mike Budenholzer, and Canales.OreDucks01284 wrote:Blazers are going to interview Patrick Ewing for head coach position.

If true, we should have done that. But I doubt that the Twolves would offer that.thomas time wrote:CSNNW. com reported blazers turned down an offer of Derrick Williams and two first round picks for Batum, and are having his agent flying into town so Nic will take a phyiscal, so looks like they are serious about matching which I had always thought.

Re: Blazers
And apparently Phil Jackson is willing to talk to Blazers about a front office position. If nothing else that might lend some credability to the Blazers and perhaps make players want to come here.OreDucks01284 wrote:Blazers are going to interview Patrick Ewing for head coach position.

Re: Blazers
It's not easy to follow the Blazers as closely as I would like from Charlotte. Based on the Oregonian and NBA tv, I know they want a starting caliber center and seemed intent on filling that position via trade.
I had assumed they would try to get something done before matching the Batum offer sheet tomorrow, so we could go over the cap.
Any rumours on where we're looking/targeting?

Re: Blazers
It's very very quiet and looks like they're just gonna sit on this team and roll with the punches and stay under the cap. I'd like to see them make some moves, and was hoping they'd bid on guys like Haywood or Scola but I think they want to give the young guys some runncduck wrote:It's not easy to follow the Blazers as closely as I would like from Charlotte. Re: Blazers
From the sounds of things, they may end up starting the new rookie that they signed. It doesn't sound like anything serious is in the works for acquiring a starting caliber center. This team is going to be an absolute mess next season.ncduck wrote:It's not easy to follow the Blazers as closely as I would like from Charlotte. Re: Blazers
Thanks for writing back!
I stayed up super late the other night to watch the Blazers first summer league game. Leonard looks like he will work hard enough to squeeze out every ounce of potential he has.
Hopefully, we get a coach or assistant that knows how to develop bigs.
