James Louis giving Oregon a look?

Post by jhopduck »

Courtesy of ESPN blogs (not G. Biggins though)

It's been well-documented that Oregon has tried to make its presence known in the Southeast in recent years. Louis said he did not know why the Ducks were gaining in popularity, but he did have good things to say about Chip Kelly's program.

"They have a great program," he said. "One that I might be able to fit into if I went there."

Kind of a surprise to me. A good one.

Also Quinton Dunbar of Booker T. decommits from Miami. Impact: Not that it puts us in play for Dunbar so much as they were likely steering away from Ivan McCartney a little since they "had" Dunbar, we'll see now.

Nate is talking about Gilbert St. Louis who i dont believe is related to James Louis.

One of these days I need to sit down and try and collect all the names from FL that are flying out here for visits.

thankyou mops, lol sorry about all the confusion. gilbert st louis is friends with peniel jean; another guy who is trying to come out here soon for a visit. i called peniel last night to see what was up. he said to me that don pellum was going to recruit him. peniel sent out a second tape, so the coaches could evaluate it. He just worries about the lack of scholarships given out this year. too bad we are so limited, because there is so many talented players out their, who love the ducks. peniel says that if offered, that would put the ducks over the top. he knows about the number of scholarships and knows he has to jump right on things and commit. he doesnt really have a top 5 yet, but oregon really stands out to him. peniel wants to play saftey from my understanding. this is gilberts profile: http://northcarolina.rivals.com/viewpro ... _key=78706

Yep, at least two, maybe 3.
Hmm, I didn't realize we needed that maney safeties. Besides Meline, what guys are we going after to fill that S spot? It seems like there isn't many that the Ducks are really pursuing.

Badger was one, but he committed to Stanford.

Sean Parker is another, but he is supposedly a Notre Dame lean.

Ted Meline, Dion Bailey and John Timo all claim Oregon offers.

Tevin McDonald is high on the Ducks, but doesn't have an Oregon offer yet....at least not that I know of.

That would be sweet if Peniel Jean could play safety. From what I remember, he played cornerback in the highlight tape of his that I saw, but he made some huge hits so I can envision him as a safety also.

It seems the coaches really like this kid Issac Dixon from Miami Pace at Safety. For the spring game he will be in town and so will Ethan again. I think Tony Grimes is coming out too but it is not definite. Keion Payne from St. Thomas also called the coaches and said if offered it would be hard to say no. Seems the Ducks have a lot of options and should be down here in May to evaluate these kids. They are almost in a position that they have too many kids who want to come and not enough spots.

Primedime, I'd like to thank you for making the move over to DucksAttack.com!

What kind of player is Keion Payne? I've heard great things about Ethan Grant talking to a lot of players down in the SO FL area.
