Stanford looked good last night, BUT
I didn't ever have the feeling watching Nunes that I did watching Luck four years ago as a young player. Nunes missed a lot of throws. Game could have been a lot less close. Thoughts?

I agree. I didn't think Stanford's offense was impressive at all. Nunes is not young either, I believe he's a senior. Their defense looked good, though. Yet, they always do...before they face us.chapelhillduck wrote:I didn't ever have the feeling watching Nunes that I did watching Luck four years ago as a young player. Nunes missed a lot of throws. They're defense looked strong, but slow. I think Oregon has a way better OLine than USC too, so I think Oregon pretty much duplicate what they did to Stanford's defense last year, I just think they hold Stanford to less points. Stanford is way too slow on defense to keep up with Oregon's speed.

It is about matchups. Stanford matches up well against USC but not so well against Oregon. USC on the other hand does match up well against Oregon.

Agreed on all points but i do disagree a bit with usc matching up well with us. They haven't been able to handle our speed & pace until last year & even then it was simply a mismanaged failure of a 4th qtr drive that kept us from winning that game. We stunk up the joint for 3 qtrs but in the 4th they had no chance at stopping us. And same goes for this year, they're weak in the trenches & really lack depth. That spells disaster for them.gofightingducks wrote:It is about matchups. Stanford matches up well against USC but not so well against Oregon. USC on the other hand does match up well against Oregon.
They're the only team that has the athletes to match ours but our scheme, pace & discipline is always too much for them to handle as the game goes on. Which is why we've blown them out in 2 of the past 3 years & were unstoppable in the 4th last year.

Completely agree. When/If Stanford loses, it will be because of Nunes.
