Not worried at all. Have you ever been to Oxford, MS? Every offer looks great on paper when you only have 3. Look for his list to change when he gets more offers but Oregon is def somewhere on the top.

Lets be real folks. The only player we will pull from Florida this year is Ethan Grant. Which isn't bad news by any means. I just think a lot of people are setting themselves up for disappointment with all the attention that the coaches are paying to the recruits in the Miami area. Ted Meline is another who won't be a Duck. At least the coaches are trying though.

To have interest is one thing. Enough interest to be a Duck is another. Dixon was supposed to commit on the spot. He didn't. Meline was supposed to be an Oregon lean, he is headed to Georgia. We were Godfrey's leader a few days ago, now we aren't. I'm not bitter btw, as I never expected much out of our Florida efforts.

Dixon never said that, he said on his visit. Oregon will get a few South Florida kids for sure.

It is so early in the recruiting process that we don't know how the players are feeling. Their info is just starting to come out so we have to be patient. We aren't going to have 19 commitments by this time every year like Texas seems to do every year. I have a feeling that Florida will produce some good talent for us this coming year if Oregon takes care of business this coming season.

I definitely don't think we close on ALL the south Florida prospects we are after, but to think we end up with only Grant is a little too low on the expectation level IMO. I think we may get Meline when it is all said and done. He needs to visit, and even if he commits to Georgia I'm not very worried. Dixon we are at the top for Prime says. I think we won't end up with McCartney now that Miami is putting on the full court press.
I'd look for us to end with David Perry, Peniel Jean, and possibly one other, maybe even one we haven't heard of yet. Sounds like we may pass on Godfrey which will probably hurt our chances with Reese and possibly Gainer (one I'd really like to get).
But we'll see, we havent even had our junior day or spring game yet and we are in a "dead" period anyways.

I think a lot of people have gotten excited over the idea that so many Florida kids are showing what appears to be serious interest and expect that to carry over to landing a good portion of our class, myself included. However, it's time to come down from cloud nine and back to reality.

There is what seems about 10-15 kids right now that are showing legit interest in the Oregon program.

QB Jeffrey Godfrey
QB Mark Leal(Verbal offer)
RB Eduardo Clements
RB Brandon Gainer
RB Ethan Grant(Committed)
RB Corvin Lamb
WR Ivan McCartney
WR Ted Meline
WR James Luois
WR Josh Reese
DE Delvin Jones
DE David Perry
LB Issac Dixon
CB Tony Grimes
CB Keion Payne
S Peniel Jean

Out of that group I see maybe 1-2 more commits and 3-4 if we get really lucky. Every recruit says distance doesn't matter at first and when it comes down to putting your name on the dotted line family, friends, girlfriends, they all come up and sway a recruit one way or another. There is a lot that has to happen to land a kid back east for a school like us and for most of those guys I don't see it happening.

I know we needs RB's in this class, but I want Peniel Jean in a Ducks uniform. I hope we go after him hard. He's the kind of kid that nobody will talk about until he ends up on ESPN come Saturdays.
