Something interesting. On Mr.Clay's myspace he belongs to the R.I.P Todd Doxey group. Pretty cool I wonder if he knew him well?

Since they are both from San Diego, I would guess they knew each other pretty well.

They're both from SD so it would seem likely or maybe he's subtly sharing his commitment to the Ducks :o

Hoover ( Doxey ) and Scripps Ranch ( Clay ) play in Divsion 2 CIF in San Diego. The schools are about 25 minutes apart. When Doxey was a senior Clay was a Freshman. Doxey was a " superstar" in both football and basketball so it would be surprising if Clay didn't know of Doxey. I haven't checked the schedules to see if Hoover played SRHS in football when Clay was a freshman but almost certainly in basketball. Doxey played in the local all star game, the Spanos Classic. Clay may have seen him play in that game as it is well attended. Doxey received a lot of attention on TV expecially on " Prep Pigskin Preview". One night the announcer actually said that he was amazed that Doxey hadn't won the " Player of the Week" award since he was always a finalist. I think it was the next week that he won that award and then received player of the year as well.

Penjamin' and I along with other Ducks will be at SRHS scrimmages and we'll report.
SRHS had Forcier as QB last year taking a lot of pressure off the RB. It will be interesting to see how Clay performs this year with a new QB.

We will also be following Crosswhite, the tackle that played opposite Benyard, Devon Dunn RB from Lincoln and a few others.

Good link, but I don't think that's really what the story said. It says many believe he'll end up at Michigan, but not that they lead. And them saying that came after this quote from Clay:

"My coach kind of gave me a hint, and said he had heard I talked to Oregon and it went real well," Clay said. "So he told me to check my email. My heart started racing really fast and then I got to read the email from coach [John] Neal, U of O secondary coach. It meant a lot to me."

Clay won the MVP award for running backs at the LA NIKE Camp on Sunday. This is pretty impressive since the camp was loaded with top running backs, some of whom have received more hype than Clay. Here is a snippet from the article...
Taking home the most valuable player award for the backs was four-star Brennan Clay of San Diego Scripps Ranch. Clay beat out an absolutely loaded group of backs that included stars like Malcolm Jones of Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian, Jordon James of Corona, Calif., Dietrich Riley of La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis, Trajuan Briggs of Van Nuys (Calif.) Birmingham and Deontae Cooper of Perris (Calif.) Citrus Hill.
