This kid may play WR or Safety in College. Depends on the school. Really likes Miami and has not been offered yet, but currently Georgia and Ducks are top two right now.

Re: Ted Meline - WR - Miami, FL
Seriously, what is the deal with this guy? He literally says the exact opposite thing every time he is interviewed regarding the position Oregon is recruiting him at. First he says the Ducks are recruiting him at safety. Then the next interview he says the Ducks are recruiting him at wide receiver. Now in his latest video interview he says the Ducks are recruiting him at safety. Thanks for clearing that up Ted.
Assuming he is a good safety (I have never seen any footage of him on defense), I am hoping the Ducks are recruiting him at safety since that is a bigger need and it would keep a spot open for one of the many other receivers the Ducks are after. He is going to need to gain some weight, but with his rangy frame that hopefully won't be a big issue.

Although if Miami or Florida offers, they'd be right up with those 2 as well.

With moves like this, and hands that appear to be full of stickem, what's not to like?

I didn't see any defensive film of him. I can also see why he would project better as a WR than a safety. His current weight would hurt his chances at safety. Add 10-20 pounds and then he might be a viable D1 safety. At this moment, he would be better on offense as it appears that he has far more tools for WR. That's not to say that he couldn't become a good safety, but it would take much more work.

It would appear Oregon is recruiting him as a safety and that is probably what he is leaning more towards playing in college. But I'm betting it's more like come on board we'll try you at both and see what happens sort of a deal. We would just love to have his athletic ability around to utilize.

I, for one, would love to see us back off of our "stop the run at all costs" mentality and return to having a true Free Safety with TJ playing the rover spot. This last year I saw a lot more of Chung dropping into Cover1 or Cover3 with TJ really playing the Rover spot. I think TJ is a born Rover in our defense but would love to get away from having, essentially, two SSs, with neither having great coverage skills.
If he can put on enough weight to play the run when necessary but keep his speed, hands, and ball skills I'd love to see him playing centerfield for us.

The reason you see him contridicting himself is because those articles aren't put up immediatly. These gusy only see kids 1 or 2 times a year so these articles have to last. He is not interested in Miami at all and he doesn't really want to go to UF. He will end up at UGA or Oregon and should be announcing end of May.

I second what Tray Dub is saying, there's been a sudden search of great information since you joined haha. You've already joined Jhop, Mops, TK and a few others whose posts I'm always anxious to read because they are usually informative or insightful.
