Ertz to NFL, Skov and others staying

Linebackers Shayne Skov and Trent Murphy and end Ben Gardner announced they will return to school. Levine Toilolo is still thinking.

The Stanford D will continue to be quite formidable, I'm thinking. What will be interesting watching them next year, is how their offense evolves; especially if Toilolo takes his talents to the league. No Ertz, no Taylor, no Toilolo, and mediocre WR play...even w/ an experienced Hogan coming back they'll have to generate some points somewhere.

They do have Barry Sanders Jr available next year after redshirting so they probably won't be hurting at RB. They still have lots of TEs so no worry there either. Only weakspot for them is still a lack of a consistent WR threat.

Have you heard much about Barry Sanders Jr ? I remember seeing a pretty impressive highlight tape of his, but didn't hear much as to his progression at Stanford.greenyellow wrote:They do have Barry Sanders Jr available next year after redshirting so they probably won't be hurting at RB. Their offensive line is gonna be more talented and more experienced. Linebackers are talented and deep as hell. I dunno about their DB's or D-line. WR's are still sorta weak, but that hasn't really stopped them. Stanford wins at the line of scrimmage. Even with Toilolo gone, they have some very nice talent at TE. QB gains more experience, and should be a lil better at the very least. Still deep at RB.
They also get more athletic each year due their great recruiting classes. Stanford is pretty scary moving forward.

LBs/TEs is Stanford football. I don't think that'll change. It sucks when they have the QB and RB to support that, like they have the last 4 years.

It's gonna be a war. Chip has a way of figuring teams out the second time around so I'm pretty confident!

Pac 12 should be pretty tough next year.

Stanford's LBs scare me, but Barner wasn't really known breaking tackles and moving the pile, especially when they played Stanford. I think Oregon will be much better against Stanford with a bigger back in there.

I've watched, and re-watched that Stanford game a bunch of times. So many points left on the field, it's painful. Againt a top-notch D and a ball control offense that is rolling....you just can't do that.Biggus Duckus wrote:Hard to believe that in 2010 we were down 21-3 in the first quarter, but came back and won handily. And this year Stanford didn't even score that many points total but beat us.
We wasted what was 1 of the 3 best performances from our D all year. Ifo's dropped pick 6 on Stanford's equalizing drive just burns the eyes.

The PAC 12 north is going to be tough…the south is going to be terrible.

Do y'all have a bigger back...I'm under the impression it’s all small bodied speedsterssquintsdd wrote:Stanford's LBs scare me, but Barner wasn't really known breaking tackles and moving the pile, especially when they played Stanford. Tyner is 6'1 210(maybe get up to 220?) but will be a true frosh
In all honesty though DAT looked to be much better against Stanford cause they couldn't keep up with his speed. I'd rather we try and use speed against them then just try and smash mouth it at them cause that'd play right into their hands.

I think Tyner will have something to say about thatBiggus Duckus wrote:Byron Marshall is about the same size as Johnathan Franklin, he SHOULD be our feature back next year, or split time with DAT.
