Re: nba 2012-13
My Spurs win a HUGE game 1! This was a game they had no right winning. Spurs couldn't make a basket, no Spliiter, and Timmy had the flue. Meanwhile, Spurs were ice cold, yet somehow, the Spurs found a way and got it done! That's the importance of experience in the playoffs. That has to be a deflating loss for Golden State. Hopefully Spurs dominate in game 2 and finish this series in 4 or 5 games. Timmy deserves ring #5!

Shame on Warriors, they had it! Klay fouling out hurt them.

Melo really took it out on y'all.oregontrack wrote:well that was unpleasant.
Memphis is looking really strong, they could easily be up 2-0 right now. With no Westbrook, will we potentially see an upset here? Or are the Thunder just off to a slow start?
Not going to lie, all of these series have the potential to reach 7 games, really a potentially awesome 2nd round.

With no Westbrook, I don't know if the Grizz winning could be called an upset. Ibaka is going to have to play like a man or else Clay Bennett is going to have to pay some serious moolah to the officials.UOducksTK1 wrote:Melo really took it out on y'all.oregontrack wrote:well that was unpleasant.

i'd be shitting bricks if i were the spurs. they've been decidedly outplayed for 7.5 out of 8 quarters at home, and have now lost homecourt advantage toa team that has perhaps the best homecourt advantage in the nba. you've got younger legs vs. older legs, and the younger legs have all the momentum and believe they can win.

Re: nba 2012-13
Let me get this straight. When the NBA had its lockout, one of the stated concerns was in regards to competitive balance in the league. Stern and Silver even said as much and used the Kings/Lakers as an example of what they wanted to get away from. Nice to hear in theory, right? Well, except when the franchise that they used as an example is now being saved primarily through public financing in the state with the worst economic situation in the union. Not only do the tax-payers of CA not have the money to fund this, once they move out of the current arena, they're not going to accept any money from revenue-sharing that Stern felt was so critical for smaller teams to do well. Of course, contraction is ultimately Sterns goal.
I haven't even mentioned the fact that Clay Bennett was the head of the relocation committee on this either. At some point, doesn't the decency to recuse oneself enter the picture?

The Seattle group is calling their bluff and upping the ante. Now throwing in another 75 million and guaranteeing they will turn a profit ( meaning no taking from the fund). Rumor is the vote was actually 4-3 not 7-0 like stern wants the world to think, this could change everything.Duck07 wrote:Let me get this straight. Pop is failing as a coach at SA. My Spurs are a joke right now. Pop is panicking like crazy and is going with horrible rotations Gary Neal should never see the court. My Spurs were embarrassing today.

aren't you the guy always blasting Altman when we lose a game? you and your misplaced coaching rants...
anyway, Indy takes 2 at home and now heads back to MSG up 3-1. I'd love to put this away in New York...
