Ouch. I thought we had an excellent shot at Clay.

Without even visiting all of the schools he was intersted in? Not very smart at all. And no offense, but who wants to live in Oklahoma for 4 years?

This is a shot to the nads. I truly believed we led. Lets see if it sticks the whole way. That said, I think it does.

I wonder if he even visits Oregon and Michigan. He should have at least waited until after he visited the other schools. Oh well, I guess the Ducks can go after other RB's harder now.

HOLD ON, WHAT?
This might just be wishful thinking but, does a program like Oklahoma have the clout to talk to a kid like Clay and say "we need a commitment right now or else we are dropping your offer and going hard after others" in which case a kid like Clay weighs his options figures he will commit now because teams like Michigan, Oregon and others will hold an offer no matter what, and if necessary change his mind after some visits?
Am I delusional?
ARRRRRR.....what a bummer.

Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Doesn't Oklahoma also have a policy of pulling scholarship offers if a recruit takes more visits?

He's going from beautiful San Diego to Oklahoma. Wow what a culture shock.... Can't figure this one out. I really thought it would come down to his DREAM schools Oregon and Texas. Oklahoma wasn't even in his top 3 three days ago. What did stupid offer him or his family? Hope he changes his mind and opens it up again.
Also, don't want to be a downer on Grant but, once a recruit opens up his recruiting after he's already committed, Just from following recruiting for the last 10 years I'd say there's only about a 20-30% chance of him staying with that original commitment.... The Duck coaching staff have their work cut out for them.

Re: Brennan Clay to the sooners
Here in San Diego, they had a brief interview with Clay. He said he chose Oklahoma because they were the right school academically and athletically. That's funny, because I don't think he has even been to Norman before. It really sucks to lose top California talent this way. What was the point of commiting right now? I just don't get it.

Maybe working for one of the auto dealers in Norman appeals to him...

Re: Brennan Clay to the sooners
Clay said he was tired of the recruiting process already. He also says "god led him to his decision" as well. The reason he didn't tell Brandon or Matt this when they both talked to him the night before is he wanted it to be a shocker!
