Troy Hill: 3 * CB from CA
DSA: Who stands out for you right now?
Hill: Oregon, Arizona and Washington are my top 3 right now.
DSA: What is your perception of early playing time at Oregon?
Hill: I know that Byrd and Chung both went to the NFL and Thurmond and Ward will be seniors this year. So, the opportunity to compete will be available.
DSA: Have you ever been to Eugene, Oregon?
Hill: No I haven't but my Uncle and I are going to try and get up to Eugene before the summer is over to meet the coaches and check the facilities out.

Meh, I'd rather have Mathis and/or Stephenson.

Re: Yet another CB with Oregon Offer
certainly I would to but there are a lot of CB's out there with Oregon offers so the Ducks are sure to land some talent at that position. They already have one! Interesting that there is so much interest on the defensive side of the ball considering the Ducks reputation for giving up a lot of passing yards and not as much interest at the skill positions QB and RB where the Ducks excel!tonyd wrote:Meh, I'd rather have Mathis and/or Stephenson.

There's plenty of interest at QB and RB. We have Bennett and Grant committed with lots of other interest coming our way...gofightingducks wrote:certainly I would to but there are a lot of CB's out there with Oregon offers so the Ducks are sure to land some talent at that position. Re: Yet another CB with Oregon Offer
I guess what I meant to say is I would figure running QB's and RB's would be beating down the door and not wavering or waiting and pulling the trigger to be a Duck, like a lot of guys have done with other teams that have success at those positions (Florida, USC, Oklahoma, etc.)tonyd wrote:There's plenty of interest at QB and RB. I know what you mean, although that's what's going to happen when the staff goes after the best of the best.

True, but we don't have the tradition of Ok, FL, or USC. The way they recruit and the way we recruit are very different, and will be for years to come until we are highly succesful for 5-10 years. Distance will always hurt, but continued success will make that obstacle easier.

Re: Yet another CB with Oregon Offer
Before committing, the coaches want the players to visit and that usually is what stalls commitments this early. Once the season begins, commits will begin coming in as players come on their official visits.

That'd be awesome if we got him, but I don't see it happening.

He is really high on Oregon but doesn't have an offer yet but should soon.

Re: Yet another CB with Oregon Offer
It's going to be interesting how the CB recruitment plays out. First come, first serve? Will we have to turn down a player of Mathis' or Stephenson's status?tonyd wrote:Meh, I'd rather have Mathis and/or Stephenson.

I don't think they will to be honest. If they do take three though, they might need to do some shuffling.UOducksTK1 wrote:It's going to be interesting how the CB recruitment plays out.
