From his hometown newspaper that did this a few weeks ago. Nice story.

With his strong family connections, I will be somewhat surprised if Marcus attends the U of O, but would welcome him as agreat addition to the Ducks if he so chooses.

Sounds like a great kid!

I obviously have no experience in it, but that sure sounds like how a recruitment should be handled. Down to earth, has an advisor but the parents are still number 1, as it should be.

I really hope he visits Oregon and likes it here. If not, I actually wish him success in all he does!

Unless I misread it which is possible.. Oregon is not even really on his radar.. the final 8 we are not in.. unless I missed it. I apologize if I did. If not on the radar.. think we can kiss this one goodbye given the strong family connections he feels.

That article was from a few weeks ago. Him wanting an Oregon offer is a recent development.

They just added Oregon to his list on the recruiting sites a few days ago.

The family connections may or may not be a substantial obstacle. However, that the programs close to him are stacked with qualities RBs ahead of him, you would think works in our favor.

Our willingness to pay Brian Butler off stopped us from Bryce Brown. The Lattimore family is an entirely different situation. ENTIRELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Total BS, we got out recruited for Brown, plain and simple.

If by being out-recruited by Tennessee you mean the influence of Butler skewing the decision toward Tenn. based on his lack of recieving payment by Oregon then yes, we were out-recruited.

You're probably right, but that's a pretty bold accusation

I know there was no real proof of this out there. But looking at the whole situation from beginning to end it feels like it would be a bigger stretch to say it didn't happen. Maybe I should just shut my mouth about my theory.

UT wasn't nearly as stacked at RB than Lattimore's presumed options. But, on that topic, I think Oregon was ruled out for Brown by his family due to location.
