The guy brought in to rescue Ernie Kent’s basketball program has hit the ground, well, running. Four months into his new job, the only thing that has slowed Dunlap has been a balky knee, which has curtailed any actual running and required two minor surgeries
“The worst thing I could do,” Dunlap says, “is have a surgery and not do my job. I’d be embarrassed not to perform on that day.”
Meet Oregon’s associate head coach, a complicated amalgam of intensity, intelligence, candor and cool. He arrives in Eugene with a reputation as a fantastic teacher of the game, and he says he’s found the Ducks to be “malleable,” eager to learn, anxious to improve.
Kent has embraced Dunlap’s assistance, and Oregon’s other assistants have adapted to the new guy. Dunlap has been listening and learning.
Whether it results in more wins — enough wins — remains to be seen. But so far, the experiment seems to be running well.

Sounds like a great addition. Hopefully he will be at Oregon a long time.

I am betting he will be the new Duck head coach after this season because Kent will finally be fired!

IMO, the Ducks would need to have another disastrous season in order for that to happen...

I really shouldn't wish something like this for Ernie Kent, because he's a great guy, but I'm kind of hoping this scenario happens.gofightingducks wrote:I am betting he will be the new Duck head coach after this season because Kent will finally be fired!
Ernie had some great seasons here, but it's time for a new look. And I feel like we won't miss too much of a beat in recruiting with Dunlap.
