The Broadway commitment actually makes sense. He will more than likely end up being "the" guy on campus for at least 2 years, probably 3. He'll play in a lowly ranked conference, which, if he's as good as slated, means he'll look better than he might if he played somewhere else. He's also going to notch up the stats at a place like Houston.

NFL teams tend to bite, even in the first round, on flashy kids with decent credentials in non-BCS conferences.

Also, Houston has 3 games vs. UCLA on the schedule. So if he wanted to he'll probably have the opportunity to shine on a larger level.

In recent weeks, Broadway narrowed his choices to Houston, Connecticut, Louisiana Tech, Oregon and Mississippi State.

All spread offenses.

“The offense was a main factor,” Broadway said. “It’s something I’ve enjoyed doing while I’ve been in high school.”

Broadway made his first visit to the Houston campus earlier this week. He’d planned to visit Mississippi State as well, but he canceled the second end of the trip.

Houston hit home.

“I fell in love with the whole environment,” Broadway said.

I hope he enjoys living in Houston for 4 years  I guess he just likes the big city. From a football perspective, Oregon was clearly the best school out of his final 5.

I'm not surprised he chose Houston considering who he told scout his top 5 were last week. Much of the schools were lower level schools.

A lot of QBs that were on Oregon's radar are committing elsewhere.. Munchie and Gonzalez are still out there.
